I’m Approaching 40 And I’d Like To Apply To Be Personal Assistant To Rafael Nadal Onboard His Catamaran
An open letter to Mr. Nadal’s team,
I’d like to speculatively apply for the position of Personal Assistant to Rafael Nadal exclusively when he is onboard his catamaran Great White.
Since his latest victory, I’m sure Mr. Nadal is in the market to expand his team, particularly when it comes to the help needed on his yacht, which I can only assume will be facing a luxurious renovation in the weeks to come. I am incredibly available during the times he wishes to sail around the Balearic Islands, which I heard is all of the time he is on the vessel.
I do not have any sailing skills per se, but I did once complete a first aid course and would not hesitate to apply these skills to Mr. Nadal should they be required. The ocean is a dangerous place and it’s not unlikely that he would require resuscitation after some vigorous snorkelling with me in the crystalline waters of the archipelago.
My skills include some rudimentary Spanish — I can say the necessary greetings and phrases, including “Tu esposa no necesita saber sobre esto,” with virtually no accent, which has come in handy more times than you might think.
I notice that Mr. Nadal has seen a lot of sun in his young, athletic, and muscular life. I keep up-to-date with skin care science and I recommend he use sunscreen every day to protect himself. I am experienced in applying sunscreen thoroughly and effectively while promoting a deep sense of well-being.
Perhaps most importantly, I’m an outstanding conversationalist and companion. It gets lonely at sea and I would alleviate Mr. Nadal’s loneliness with nighttime talks and midnight snacks. It would be my pleasure to make him a cocktail or two in the evenings. I mix a very palatable Grand Slam and we could share 20 of them just like he does with Mr. Federer. I honestly think he would like that joke. Like I said; I’m a great conversationalist.
I hope you will consider me for this role. It’s been a long, hard year, and I really need this win.
Yours Sincerely,
Clare Wieck
